Once considered rare, Anxiety is now becoming more widely acknowledged, with statistics showing that approximately seven million individuals in North America alone live with Generalized Anxiety Disorder, that is only one form of Anxiety Disorder. Additionally, it is not uncommon for people with Anxiety to experience co-occurring disorders such as Depression.

As a prior practicing member of the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses (CRPNA) of Manitoba and an educator in the field of Anxiety, I have been fortunate to travel throughout Manitoba and the United States, promoting awareness of Anxiety both publicly and through various media sources. Over the last 29 years, I have dedicated myself to personal and professional training, continuously learning more about Anxiety and implementing strategies to overcome it.

As a member of the International Anxiety Foundation, I am committed to ongoing education and personal development to better support those in need on their journey to recovery.

There are several types of Anxiety Disorders in addition to Generalized Anxiety. Here are a few others that one may experience. It is not uncommon to have more then one type. Panic Disorder, Social Anxiety, Specific Phobias, Agoraphobia, to name a few.

Remember, you are not alone in your journey with Anxiety. There is a growing understanding of the disorder, and with the right support and treatment, recovery is possible.
